My Seventh Grade classes just finished a complex project integrating Social Studies with technology. It began with a game-based simulation traveling back in time to the American Revolution through Mission US "For Crown or Glory." Students then wrote interview questions and answer scripts. They were being interviewed by news reporters upon their return from their "time travel" to the American Revolution as "Nate" the Printer's Apprentice. We left our desktop computers and switched to iPads. From there students created a four scene comic using Comic Heads Lite depicting a reporter asking a question (from their script). Students then recorded their responses using Telligami. From there, we rolled it into Thinglink on iPads, imported the Comic Heads Lite image, added the Telligami recordings, and synched the image created on iPads with Thinglink to their accounts. We switched back to desktop computers, signed into Thinglink and polished the final product on Thinglink. Initially, I wanted to use AirDrop to send custom images from Mission US for the comic creation. But, a weak WiFi connection made that impossible. Here's some fine examples of this project.

The month of May features "Women Who Tech" with a startup challenge. Thinglink is seeking funding to offer a free interactive book and video library for education. By the way, the CEO of Thinglink is a woman. There's not many of us out there. Check out the story and more information to support this effort.
Living in the US!Looking for a fun, high interest end of year project for your classes? There is a new Thinglink Creative Challenge just for classrooms! This is a new venture to build interactive books, a recent upgrade to Thinglink. For more info go to the Thinglink Blog.
I've been participating in the Thinglink Teacher Challenges since last summer. Before that, I was not fully aware of the powerful ways Thinglink can transform a classroom. I learned a lot from others and delve deeper into creating lesson bundles for my computer classes. This is the second time I have won the most recent Thinglink Teacher Challenges sharing the prize with another. I suggest at least following these challenges. Even more, participate.
